Appeal for witnesses following aggravated burglary in Lightwater

We are appealing for witnesses following after an aggravated burglary in Lightwater on Tuesday 9 July.
The burglary occurred around 10:30pm at a property in Christie Close, Lightwater.

The elderly victim was at home alone when she noticed someone outside on her patio, attempting to gain entry using a screwdriver. She then noticed a second person inside her living room and both men proceeded to demand cash and jewellery.

The men threatened the victim, and slapped her several times before making off with a quantity of cash. They’re described as wearing dark clothing, balaclavas and gloves. 

 
Police Constable Roxanne Hudson, who is investigating the case, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area last night.

“If you’re a neighbour or happened to be driving through the area late last night and saw men of this description, we would appreciate your help with our investigation. As well as this, if you live in the area and have CCTV footage which you believe could help us, please get in touch.”
